F.C. Dominicus (Foort Cornelis Dominicus - 1884-1976), teacher and cultural historian.

Though living much of his life in Holland, he spent a number of years (1913-1920) in Grahamstown, as a teacher of languages at St Andrews College and completing a degree at the university there. He then returned to and spent the rest of his life as teacher and author but retained a strong interest in South Africa, producing a number of publications on the country its history and its people.

Of particular interest to theatre history is his little booklet Het huiselik en maatschappelik leven van de Zuid-Afrikaner in de eerste helft der 18de eeuw ("The domestic and social life of the South African in the first half of the 18th century"), written and published in 1919, which among other things details certain cultural performances in the country.
