La Giara
La Giara (1909), originally a short story, is a play by Luigi Pirandello [1] (1867-1936). The storyline offers a Sicily of sunshine, countryside, song and eccentrics.

Performance history in South Africa
The Jar was produced by PACOFS in 1974, directed by Jannie Gildenhuys starring Wim Vorster, Neels Coetzee, George Barnes, and Alison Marquard.
Die Kruik was presented as part of an event entitled Drie Eenbedrywe in aid of the United Nations Children's Fund under the direction of Miems de Bruyn, date (possibly 1948) and venue unknown. The cast: Phil Loots, Jacoba Potgieter, Anneke Rossouw, Ernestine Bruwer, Lourens Voges, Dirk du Toit, Joe Ferreira, Andries van Heerden, Johan Bothma, Willem Laubscher, Boela Holloway.
