The Cradle Song
The Cradle Song is an English translation of Canción de cuna, a Spanish play by Gregorio Martínez Sierra (1881-1947).
The original text
Sierra was a Spanish writer, poet, dramatist and theatre director, a key figure in the revival of the Spanish theatrical avant-garde in the early twentieth century. Canción de cuna, his masterpiece, was written and first performed in 1911, and was adapted into a film in 1933.
