A one act French comedy in verse by Barthélemy-Christophe Fagan, (also known as Fagan de Lugny, 1702-1755), first performed in Paris, Théâtre-Français, 27 May 1733. It was freely adapted into German by August von Kotzebue as Der Mann von Vierzig Jahren, the name under which it is best known, and was performed in South Africa in Dutch (De Man van Veertig Jaren)
