Originally founded in 2004 by Simon Cooper, and Helen Cooper and Nicholas Ellenbogen and Liz Ellenbogen in the old bakery building in Main Street, Kalk Bay (?*). In 2005 it moved to the heritage protected Dutch Reformed Church (built 1876), on Main Road, which they converted into an intimate 78 seat theatre and restaurant. The theatre offers a unique dinner and theatre experience where guests can linger after the show and meet the performers in a relaxed environment and presents a varied programme of entertainment across drama, comedy, dance and music, offering opportunities for a number of local writers and performers.

The Ellenbogens later moved on to other projects, and the Cooper family has continued to run the theatre.
