(SAE,SAfrE, SAfrEng, en-ZA) is a variant of standard English spoken by English-speaking South Africans. Long unrecognized, it is today accepted as a formal variant, which has a number of more informal sub-variants ("Afrikaner-English", "African English", "Township slang" etc).
