Dancing at Lughnasa by Brian Friel (born 1929, Ireland). Throughout Ireland a festival celebrating the beginning of harvest was held every year in early August, called Lughnasa after Lugh, the pagan god.****. First produced in London at the Lyttleton Theatre on 15 October 1990, directed by Patrick Mason. Best Play, Olivier Awards, 1991.
