Alude Mahali
(19**-) Performer and academic. Studied at Rhodes University (BA Honours) and University of Cape Town (M.A. in Theatre Making) and enrolled for a PhD. Her research interests lie in issues of black girlhood/wonmanhood, nostalgia, memory, vocality and displacement. As film and stage performer has collaborated with numerous international and national arts festivals.
Publications include an article on " 'Piecing together a Girlhood' ": Using the 'Girlfriend Aesthetic' as a Practical Methodology in the Making and Performance of Katuntu (...and you too). " (Igweonu, 2007)
