At Botha

(1949-) Actor for stage, television and film. Born in Kroonstad, he spent most of his childhood travelling between towns in the Orange Free State region as his father was a school teacher. Matriculated at the Hoërskool Menlo Park in Pretoria and completed his studies in drama at the University of Potchefstroom. Two years with PACT Playwork, and later with the main PACT company in productions of Three Sisters, Twaalfde Nag, Cherry Orchard, and Charley se Tante. Gardually became well known for his film and TV work, including the films Stander , and Afrikaans television drama series such as Vyfster (1984), Egoli, Dryfsand (2007), Erfsondes (2008).

In later years he also turned to painting as art form; and although with­out formal training, he has achieved a successful parallel career as an artist with his landscapes, harvester scenes of the Cape, District six scenes and seascapes.
