(19*-) Academic and theatre historian. Born in South Africa, later emigrated to the Canada, where she began her post-graduate studies at York University, concentrating on post-colonial and South African literature and drama. In this regard she began to work closely with Dennis Walder of the Open University's Post Colonial Literature's project in the late 1990s. Obtained tenure as professor at York University in 2012.
