In 1995 the popular theatre couple Carel Trichardt and Petru Wessels opened Die Teaterhuisie (The Theatre Cottage) in Sunnyside, Pretoria. It was intended to cater specifically for smaller Afrikaans productions. (Beeld 22 July 1995).
