Louw Venter (1975-). Comedian, TV, film and stage actor, writer and director.

Biography

He was born on 16 August 1975 in Cape Town, South Africa.

He attended the art school Die Kruin in Johannesburg and studied visual arts at the Witwatersrand Technikon.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Played "Corné" in The Most Amazing Show (television).

Wrote and performed The Bestman's Speech, directed by Rob van Vuuren, Obz Café Theatre, September 2006.

He directed History of Cape Town - Abridged in 2007.

Gary the Tooth Fairy performed by Louw Venter and Bev Cullinan, directed by Rob van Vuuren and presented during the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown in July 2010.

Performed in Hond se Gedagte 2016.

He also wrote the filmscript for Som van Trane.

2024: Albatros, at the Woordfees, Stellenbosch.

He had a lead role in the SABC2 drama series Swartwater.
