Die Bekentenis ("The Confession") is a one-act play by Elizabeth Lowe.

The original text

Attributed to Elizabeth Lowe in the programme, it is based on a short story, and is a short play about a murder and the chase to catch the murderer.

Performance history in South Africa

1971: Staged by PACT in Afrikaans, it played in the SATU Hall, Pretoria, from 21-24 June. Forming part of a month-long Etensuurtoneel (Lunch Hour Theatre") programme, offered by the company as part of the 1971 Republic Festival celebrations, it was directed by Truida Louw, featuring Paul Eilers (Karel), Wilna Snyman (Isabella), George Ballot (Tinus), Annette Engelbrecht (Alet) and Jannie Lindeque (Maartin).
