Children of Asazi
by Matsemela Manaka. The play is a love story set in Alexandra Township (Johannesburg) during its demoliton. It explores the contradictions of everyday life through the plight of orphans, the homeless, the unemployed and young people in love.

Performance history in South Africa
It was first performed at the Market Theatre in 1984. Directed by the author at Upstairs at the Market, opening 23 July 1986, starring Khaya Mahlangu, Peter Boroko, Thelma Pooe, Soentjie Thapeli, Job Kubatsi, Ali Hlongwane.
The play was performed at the Festival of South African Theatre in New york in September 1986.
