Koffie en kondensmelk
Koffie en kondensmelk (“Coffee and Condensed Milk”) is an Afrikaans play by Melvin Whitebooi (1956–2011).
The original text
A play about apartheid in beauty competitions, and the absurdity of having a white Miss South Africa and a black Miss Africa South. It was not until 1977 that all persons of all races were allowed to compete in the Miss SA competition. Prior to that, people of colour competed in the Miss Africa South pageant,[2] which was renamed Miss Black South Africa in 1977.
1986: First performed by the Cape Flats Players in 1986.
