Biography
Born Ilse Bremer in Pretoria, where she grew up, completing her schooling at the Afrikaans Hoër Meisieskool. In 1966 she went to the University of Stellenbosch to complete a B.A.degree (1968) and qualify as teacher (1969).
She began working as a teacher at a number of high schools, but after her marriage to Rudolf Andrag, spent time in the Cederberg region shile raising her three daughters, and working inter alia as tour guide in Cape Town, doind translations for TV dubbing by the SABC, and teaching private classes in Afrikaans and German. After her retirement she took up photography, wrote, composed and sang children's 23 lullabies called Pêreltjies vir die vaak ("pearls for the sleepy") and continued giving courses in pronunciation for singers.
