A 1990 South African drama film, adapted from the best-selling novel by Dalene Matthee Circles in a Forest (original Afrikaans title: Kringe in 'n Bos) (1984). It is the story of Saul Barnard who befriends an elephant as a child, and later goes back to rescue it as a man. The film was directed by Regardt van den Bergh and stars Ian Bannen, Brion James and Joe Stewardson.
