Possibly a version of Reynard the Fox by by Jeremy de Merstone, based on Le Roman de Renart

1964: A version of this popular medieval tale Reynard the Fox, adapted by Arthur Fauquez, was performed in South Africa by Irene and Orlin Corey with their Everyman Players under the auspices of Taubie Kushlick. Done as a gala performance to raise funds for Children's Theatre.
