Jill Osborn (19**-). Actress and dancer, choreographer. Also credited as Jill Osborne.

Biography

Jill was born in South Africa and trained in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Classical Greek dancing, Drama and Musical Theatre. Jill has studied at the Alvin Ailey School in New York and with Matt Maddox in London.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Jill was the only local female who was cast in the first South African production of West Side Story by Hymie Udwin, in 1971. She also performed in Sweet Fanny Adams, Group Hairier and was the dance captain in Applause.

She choreographed and appeared in They Sing Cole Porter.

She choreographed PACT's Jack and the Beanstalk in December 1989 and RAU student productions of West Side Story (1998) and Babette (1999).
