Charlotte Corday is a play by Kyrle Bellew (1855-1911)[1]

The original text

Opened at the Herald Square Theatre in New York City Mar 25, 1895 and at the Adelphi Theatre, London, on the 21st January, 1898. Became a standard piece for the Potter-Bellew Company, with Bellew in the role of "Marat".

Performance history in South Africa

1892: Performed in Cape Town by the the Potter-Bellew Company, with Cora Brown-Potter as "Charlotte" and Bellew as "Marat".

1907: Performed by the Cora Brown-Potter company under the Wheeler management with A.G. Poulton as "Marat".
