("For Practice and Entertainment"), Cape Town. Amateur dramatic society founded in the Cape in 1837 from the remnants of Tot Nut en Smaak but already disbanded by the next year. The name was used again between 1849 and 1851, when it became the new name for Hoop en Trouw after it had disbanded. (Bosman, 1928;) [JH]
