Captain W. C. O'Shaughnessy was a member of the North Lincolnshire Regiment of Foot and served in Grahamstown and Keiskama Hoek between 1860 and 1862 during the Frontier War.

Biography

He was one of the Officers of the Regiment who produced shows for the entertainment of the troops and nearby civilians.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Captain W. C. O'Shaughnessy acted in one production by the Officers of the Regiment.

April 5, 11 & 19, 1861: Acted in the Officers of the Regiment S. E. Yates and N. H. Harrington's one-act farce A Night at Notting Hill. (Policeman O'Mutton).
