Dood of Niet Dood ("dead or alive", lit "dead or not dead") is a Dutch tragedy in three acts by an unknown author.

The original text
No trace of a text of, or reference to, such a play with this specific name has yet been found , except for the reference on page 467 in Bosman (1980).
However, it could possibly be a Dutch version of Les étourdis, ou Le mort supposé ("the stunned, or the supposed death") , a comedy in three acts by Francois Guillame Jean Stanislas Andrieux (1759–1833)[1], first performed by the Comédiens Italiens ordinaires du Roi at Versaille and at the Théâtre-Italien, in 1788. Printed in Paris by Didot in the same year.

1872: Performed in Dutch as Dood of Niet Dood by Aurora II in the hall of the Germania Hall, Cape Town on 4 June, with De Drie Verliefde Schoolmeesters (Brink).
