Written for the Rederijkers circa 1860-70, based on the book by Louise Muhlbach, it was written for the Rederijkers. A performance by De Rederijkerskamer S. J. van den Bergh is recorded on Monday 4 April 1870 (See Rederijkers Weekblad nummer 14,1870). The title given as

1870: First performed in the Germania Hall, Cape Town, by Aurora II on 5 May, with Liefde, Vriendskap en List (A.A. van der Stemple).
