Fezile Mpela (born 1973-) Actor for stage and screen, TV host and motivational speaker. Fluent in several languages spoken in South Africa.

Biography

Youth

Born in Krugersdorp.

Training

He studied drama at the Pretoria Technikon.

Career

In April 1994 he joined M-Net as a continuity presenter.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

His stage career includes roles in Songs and Tales from Africa, Kapt'uit op Afrikaans, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Too Many Cooks, Museum of Modern Mistakes, The Blacks, Roses and Angels, Private Venture, and The Lion and the Jewel (State Theatre Pretoria, 2008), MacBeki (Market Theatre 2009). **

Fezile has had leading roles in numerous major television shows including Mzansi, Generations, 7de Laan, Song Vir Katryn, Molofish II, Isidingo, Andries Plak. Had major roles in Vive La Difference, Going Up, Homelands, Gaabo Motho, Fela's TV, Soul City and Kelebone. As TV host he has headed Ready Steady Cook I (SABC2, 2003-2004), Where Were You? (SABC2, 2008-) and Who Do You Think You Are? (SABC2, 2009-). His film career includes roles in Drum, The Lion King and Born Free 2 and the made-for-TV movies Coup! (2006) and Folge deinem Herzen (2006). In 2008 he played the fool Lucky in the SABC1 mini-series adaptation of Shakespeare's King Lear, called Izingane zoBaba.
