Goede Hoop Masonic Lodge

Built in 1800. Also known simply as the Goede Hoop Lodge. Musical concerts were held at the Good Hope Lodge Gardens on Friday evenings during the summer. Later in the 19th century it played an important part in theatrical activities, when an the exhibition hall evolved from the Lodge in 1875. Formally named the Good Hope Exhibition Hall and Theatre it was more popularly referred to simply as the Exhibition Hall, the Exhibition Theatre or the Good Hope Hall.
