Biography

Training

He acquired his theatre education working with Gibson Kente.


Career

John Lata started performing as a teenager in plays such as Crime Doesn't Pay and Pikinini. He was empoyed as an actor by North West Arts in the late 1990s.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

For North West Arts he performed in Survival, The Suit, The Island, Urban Reality, Messiah, The Stick. He appeared in Township Fever (1989), Comrades Arms (2000).

He toured the Netherlands with Sikhulu (1995) and the UK with Jozi-Jozi. He performed in On My Birthday at the Lincoln Centre, New York, in 1997.
