J.R. Taylor (18**-18**) was a Cape Town based performer and impressario.

According to F.C.L. Bosman (1928, p.431) (based on Groom, 1899), he apparently served as impressario for the Cape Town performances by Gustavus Brooke (1854-1855) and Sefton Parry (1855).

On 14 July 1855 a benefit performance was held for Taylor by Sefton Parry and company, consisting of Monsieur Jacques and Used Up.
