The Winslow Boy is a play by Terence Rattigan [1] (1911-1977).


The original play

The award-winning play tells of a father's fight to clear his son of a charge of petty theft.

It opened in London in 1946, and on Broadway in 1947, and was twice filmed, in 1948 and in 1999.

1955: Produced by National Theatre Organisation, directed by John Roberts, with Frank Wise, Zoë de Villiers, Brian Proudfoot, Ronald Wallace, Mary Hewison (replaced by Jane Potgieter), Leonard Graham, Sheelagh Ross, Joanna Douglas, Clifford Williams, Alan Chadwick.
