Jan Prinsloo (19**-). Actor, director.

Biography

He was married to actress Louise Mollett-Prinsloo.

Youth

Training

He graduated from Pretoria University with a B.Dram with distinction in the late 1960s.

Career

After graduating he joined PACT's youth company. In 1970 he joined PACOFS and CAPAB in 1973 and returned to PACT circa 1976.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Performed in Elders Mooiweer en Warm, Kanna hy kô Hystoe, Die Ryk Weduwee (1974), Die Hemelbed, Eierdans met die Dood (CAPAB), Close Quarters, Intimate Relations, Die Reënmaker, Voorlopige Vonnis, Don Juan, Pavane, Die Huwelik van Meneer Mississippi and Die Bobaas van die Boendoe.

Other productions include Die Staatsaanklaer, Sextet 69, 'n Man met Vakansie, Misdaad op Bokeiland, Houtjie van die Galg, Arme Moordenaar, Die Ryk Weduwee, Die Sirkusavontuur, a production of Anastasia in Afrikaans (1977), Die Selfmoordenaar, Die Dagboek van Anne Frank, Die Vrek, Twaalfde Nag (1975).

He was made available by PACT to direct Taraboemdery for CAPAB in 1978.
