Die Bosflerrie se Bostent-teater
In January 1994 Die Bosflerrie se Bostent-teater (the Bush Flirt’s Bush Tent Theatre) was opened by actor Lourens Swanepoel next to a lion park in Randburg, Johannesburg and its target audience was specifically the more conservative, traditional Afrikaners.
At the time Swanepoel told Afrikaans newspaper Die Burger that the theatre is intended exclusively for Afrikaans-language productions. He intends, with this project, to "help build a successful future for our Afrikaans culture and the survival of our mother tongue" (translated from Afrikaans). Die Bosflerrie se Bostent-teater was opened on Sunday 23 January 1994 by Eugène Terre'Blanche, the conservative political activist who founded the Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (AWB), who read some of his own poetry.
