Meurant

There are a number of people with this surname who were involved in 19th century theatre in South Africa. Quite how thewy are linked is undcertain, though it is [paossible that the L. Meurant or simply Meurant, whoc performed in French and Dutch plays in c Cape Town in the fiorst decade of the 19th centrurt, may have been the father of the later journalist and language activist Louis Henri Meurant.
