Miemie Neethling

Miemie Neethling (19**-) is a former theatre researcher and director of Higher Education at Plumpton College.

Also known by her married name, Miemie Neethling-Taylor

Biography

She studied drama at the University of Stellenbosch, completing a master's degree in 2002. She then moved into education, later relocating to the United Kingdom, where she went into educational administration, inter alia becoming the director of Higher Education at Plumpton College.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Her unpublished master's thesis on turn-of-the-century theatre buildings in Cape Town, entitled Cape curtains: a study of selected Cape Town theatres, 1843-1916, has been widely used by other researchers since its completion in 2002.

While a student at Stellenbosch University, she was also a research assistant in the Centre for Theatre and Performance Studies at Stellenbosch, a technical editor and occasional issue co-editor for SATJ and a researcher for COMSAT (the forerunner of ESAT).
