Plays
His first play, an isiXhosa text called Indlalifa, was conceived and written in 2009. Well received by locals on its first performances in Guguletu, the piece was submitted to and showcased at the ArtsCape New Writing Programme in 2010, and - having been positively received - was translated into English as The Beneficiary with the assistance of acclaimed writer and director Fatima Dike, for presentation as the second production of the 7th Artscape spring drama season in 2011.
The Gumba Squared Theatre
Twain also founded the Gumba Squared Theatre in Gugulethu in 2009, in order to perform his work. However, when he began working in theatre full time after the success of his play in 2011, he was unable to find someone to run it, so the [Gumba Squared Theatre]] closed down.
