Dhlomo Theatre
The Dhlomo Theatre is a theatre venue in Johannesburg, situated a hundred yards from the Market Theatre.
The, named after the influential academic and playwright H.I.E. Dhlomo (Herbert Dhlomo), the venue opened 21 March 1983 with Night of the Long Wake by Dukuza Ka Macu.
Other plays put on there include The Trial of Dedan Kimathi, New Song
It later evolved into the Herbert Dhlomo Theatre Centre, situated in the Afrika Cultural Centre, Newton Johannesburg, with its own theatre company, the Dhlomo Theatre Company.
