Biography
Born in Paarl in 1955, he grew up on a farm in the Wolseley district and matriculated at the High School Transvalia in Vanderbijlpark inin 1973. He studied at the University of Stellenbosch and obtained his BA (Hons) in 1987 in Afrikaans and Dutch cum laude. He is married to Qwen and they have three daughters.
He taught for 28 years, 25 of the at Paul Roos Gimnasium where he directed plays with pupils. He is a guest house owner in Stellenbosch.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
In 1990 he began writing Afrikaans one act plays and competed in many competitions: the ATKV national competition, the Logan-toneelfees in Fraserburg and the Montagu-toneelfees. In 1993 he won the C.R. Swart Prize for Willie and in 1996 he won the ATKV competition with Die Groot Gegrabbel na die Appel. Other plays include Die Grafoppassers (1992), Die Koning Raak Gewoond Daaraan (with Deon Wiggett), .

Biography
Drama Completed a Master's degree in Philosophy (1997-2005)
After completing his studies, he worked inter alia as a Proofreader/DTP Operator, the General Manager of The Book Lounge in Cape Town (December 2006 to January 2013), followed by various jobs in book sales and related matters in the UK, including working for worked for Bloomsbury Publishing in Special Interest Sales and Online Sales (Amazon).
Returned to South Africa in 2022, to work as Sales Representative for NB Publishers.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
During his period at the University of Stellenbosch, he took a course in Theatre Studies and became involved in stage productions in the Drama Departement at the University. He also wrote a few plays.
