The Women's Auxiliary was the official journal of the South African Women's Auxilliary Forces which included the South African Women's Auxilliary Service (SAWAS) and the Women's Auxilliary Army Service (WAAS). The women of the WAAS were known as "Waassies" and their CO was Lieut-Col (Mrs) A H Lugtenberg. It was based in Johannesburg during the Second World War, cost 3d (tickey) and was published for the duration of the war. The magazine carried reports about the activities of the various branches around the country, each report being submitted by the branch.
