Doubt
Doubt is a play by American playwright John Patrick Shanley [1] (1950-).
Originally staged off-Broadway at the Manhattan Theatre Club on November 23, 2004.
The play won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and Tony Award for Best Play.

The play was turned into an Academy Award-nominated film starring Philip Seymour Hoffman as Father Flynn and Meryl Streep as Sister Aloysius.
Performance history in South Africa
2007: At the Baxter Theatre, Cape Town and thereafter at the State Theatre Arena, directed by Janice Honeyman starring Sandra Prinsloo (Sister Aloysius Beauvier), Jeremy Crutchley (Father Brendan Flynn) , Tinarie van Wyk Loots (Sister James) and Ilse Oppelt (Mrs Muller), Brian Collins (set design) and Mannie Manim (Lighting) in June 2007.
2015: Directed by James Cunningham starring James Alexander (later replaced by James MacEwan) as the charismatic Father Flynn, Janna Ramos-Violante as Sister James, with Fiona Ramsay as Sister Aloysius Beauvier. After a short run at the Hilton Festival, it was released in Gauteng with Mwenya Kabwe as the aggrieved mother.
