Psychodelic Cowboy and Sister Nun by Graham Weir, a cult rock musical adventure about a band from Benoni who want to crack it big in Johannesburg, live at the top of the Hillbrow Tower and devour copious amount of LSD and other substances en route.
The original text
The script was published by Graham Weir in a book entitled how GRAHAM WEIR has accidently managed to stay aLIVE, launched at the Grahamstown Festival in 2002. Besides the script, the volume also includes extracts from the play How Graham Weir Accidentally Managed to Stay Alive, the scripts of Letters from Patient Essop, Tales From The Dark Corner, Brief Descriptions and some of his short stories.
Performance history in South Africa
1992: First performed at the Baxter Theatre, 1992?*, directed by Weir, with Graham Weir and Christine Weir.
1994: Directed by Damon Galgut, at Chaplins Theatre Restaurant, March 1994.
1995: Directed by Guy de Lancey at the Johannesburg Civic Theatre, May - July 1995.
