First performed in London on 5 November, 1857, and published by Samuel French (as Issue 374 of French's standard drama: Acting edition) in the same year.

1878: Performed as An Unequal Match by Disney Roebuck and his company in the Theatre Royal, Cape Town, on 10 July, with Perfection (Bayly). The evening a benefit for Constance Young.
