Charles J Barber

Charles J Barber was an amateur actor and cartoonist based in Port Elizabeth who did work for the Observer of South African Affairs which was published by John Pratt at the Port Elizabeth Steam Printing Works. Barber later joined the staff of the short-lived Cape Hornet in 1878.

Performance history in South Africa

April 20–21, possibly circa 1880 - 1882: Performed in Captain Disney Roebuck's company's production of the Crutch and Toothpick at the Theatre Royal, Port Elizabeth. He acted in the role of Jellico.
