The Juvenile Amateurs was a youth group active in Cape Town between 1859 and 1861.


Two production put on by the company in the Cape Town Theatre are recorded by F.C.L. Bosman (1980: p. 165-6):

On 23 June, 1859, they performed The Miller of Whetstone or The Cross Bow Letter (Wilks), William Tell, A Telling Version of an Old Tell Tale (Rossini/Buckingham) and The Fire Eater (Selby).

On 24 January, 1861, they performed The Miller of Whetstone or The Cross Bow Letter again, with The Queer Subject (Coyne) and Chesterfield Thinskin (Maddox). The evening was billed as a "Farewell Performance" and the company was assisted by local celebrity actress Annie Rowlands
