Pruttel (lit. "bubble" or "simmer"; fig. "mutter" or "grumble") is a piece of visual theatre created by Jayne Batzofin and company.

The original text

The performance piece is set in the present and tells the story of Tannie Van der Wat, who is almost 94 years old, a recluse for the past 30 years, who is prompted to vocalize her long stored up emotions by visits from the Meals on Wheels representative, a volunteer who cannot speak and who serves as a mirror image for her memories of times past.
