Eric Rosenthal
Eric Rosenthal (1905–1983)is a South African cultural historian and author.
Biography
Born in Newlands, Cape Town, on 10 July 1905, he received his early schooling at Parktown Preparatory School and St. John's College in Johannesburg. He then went on to study law at the University of the Witwatersrand, qualifying as an attorney, before turning to journalism and historical writing, producing numerous articles and books on a wide range of topics. He would become a household name as one of the so-called "Three Wise Men" on Springbok Radio's popular quiz show, Test the Team.
He married Jenny Bradley on 18 December 1934 in Westcliff, Johannesburg and on his retirement they settled in Fish Hoek near Cape Town.
