William Faure (1949-1994) was a highly rated film and television producer.

Also known as William C. Faure or Bill Faure


Biography

Born in Pretoria, on 15/17(?) July 1949, he trained at the London Film School.

Sadly he passed away on 18 October 1994, aged 45.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Among his notable successes were Plekkie in die son ("Place in the sun", 1979), Salomé (TV Movie), a televised version of Oscar Wilde’s play Salomé (1979), Emily Hobhouse: The Englishwoman (TV Movie documentary, 1979), and the epic TV series Shaka Zulu (1986).
