Eager Artists is a theatre company founded in Durban in 1993 by Jerry Pooe and Ben Zungu. Pooe took over the company on his own after Zungu left the arts industry in 1995.

The company uses a combination of acting, song and dance to portray social issues affecting South African society and the world in general.

The repertoire over the years include Athol Fugard’s The Island and Nongogo, works by other local writers - including Peace in the Valley, Ekhaya Poppie and Moipone (an adaptation of The Marabi Dance) and most of Jerry Pooe's own plays.

The group has toured extensively in Natal and South Africa, and has also played in the USA, France, Canada and elsewhere.
