The Amen Corner is a play by American essayist, playwright and novelist James Baldwin (1924-1987) [1]. The Amen Corner is his subtle, vitrioloic critique of long-held notions of what is meant by soul and the fire that burns within us, how we allow ourselves be consciously shaped by any explicit religious idea.
