The author received the Amstel Playwright of the Year Award, 1987. Winner of the Fleur du Cap Award for Best New Indigenous Script (1988). AA Life Vita Best script Award (Cape) (1989). It was awarded the Olive Schreiner Prize for Drama in 1990.

1988: Presented by CAPAB, directed by Christopher Weare at the Nico Arena from 10 to 25 June 1988 starring Anne Curteis and Norman Coombes. Designs by Birrie le Roux, lighting by Skip Wright. The same production opened at the National Arts Festival on 6 July 1988.
