This seems to have been the name for a few institutions in Cape Town over the years.


Before 1800

1800-1803

This group seems to have revived (?*) after the building of the African Theatre, making their appearance with lighter work, especially the melodramas of Von Kotzebue, till 1803, after which they slipped out of the theatrical spotlight, probably concentrating on musical presentations.


1980s-1990s

An organisation called the Theatre Club also funded Jill Fletcher's 1994 book on the African Theatre*]
