1898: January 8, 1861: D'Arcs Marionettes delighted the Port Elizabeth public at the Port Elizabeth Opera House, with their fanosities (sic). "The diminutive artists evoked much merriment." First, the grand spectacular drama, Babes in the Wood was performed followed by a grand concert by the Court Minstrels. Next was the pantomime of Bluebird. The show finished with a screaming harlequin.
